Today's Update: Includes Monday & Tuesday

Dear Friends 

Monday July 11th 4:30 p.m. 

(For those of you who have been to the web site www.judyscroggs.com you know my 
ability to send e-mails has been limited for the last 4 days. I will try to catch you up!) 
We are in Edmond Ok. To begin Judy’s 4th treatment. 2 Cor 4:16 Therefore we do not 
lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being 
renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working 
for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at 
the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which 
are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. NKJV This 
scripture speaks a lot to me today. I see it spiritually and also physically as Judy 
goes trough this chemo regiment, the medicine actually causes the body to perish 
while it is killing the tumors in her lungs. I am not yet where Paul’s experience 
had arrived. This goes beyond a “light affliction” to me but I know it is just a 
period of time in our lives. We both believe that God ordained it and only eternity 
will show all the good God has gotten out of it. This has, and is working in each of 
our hearts a “far more….weight of glory” and we will never be the same in our walk 
with the Lord! Another area of the scripture touches a very personal part of this: 
Judy was so concerned about her appearance and how it was affecting me. With tears 
in my eyes I reassured her that our love goes so much deeper than “Looking at things 
which are seen”. For my love and I am sure hers to goes so far beyond the “Temporary”. 
“In sickness and in health” was not just a passing line in a ceremony 36 years ago. 
It was a loving promise we made to each other. Judy was tested on this when I had 
injured my back years ago and was almost bed fast for several months! Now it is my turn. 
The hormone marker that carried the cancer to Judy’s lungs was once over 300.000 Now 
it is less than a thousand: 695! It’s almost gone. Which should mean the cancer is 
not far behind. The Doctor was in today and is in consultation with a colleague at 
Duke university to see if Judy’s treatment needs any polishing. (Using his words). 
We hope to go home tomorrow. After her treatment Judy gets weak and has very painful 
joints. I know you will pray this goes well. You will never never never know how 
much your prayers, e-mails, cards, letters and financial help are carrying us through.

Dear Friends 

Monday July 12th 10:00 a.m. 

This following scripture came to my mind this morning. As I Have watched the faces 
of the many who have cared for Judy here at Edmond Hospital, when they make special 
trips on their lunch hours and breaks to come from the floor they work on just to 
glance in at who some call “The miracle Lady” I get goose bumps. Now goose bumps are 
not a new thing they were going on thousands of years ago. I am not sure but I think 
Job was the first to be recorded as having them! Job 4:15 “Then a spirit passed 
before my face; The hair on my body stood up. “ NKJV A holy awe and reverence of God 
and his majesty being struck upon his spirit, he was thereby prepared for a divine visit. 
Whom God intends to honor he first humbles and lays low, and will have us all to serve 
him with holy fear, and to rejoice with trembling. ……..from Matthew Henry's Commentary 
The Lord reminded me again: If we will be humble and lay low in our spirit, Serve Him 
with a holy respect, Rejoice in our tremblings, (This take extra of God’s grace) 
Then we will be ready for a divine visit! And God will bestow upon us His honor. We 
leave The Hospital this afternoon trusting that God is taking real good care of my 
sweet wife. I am doing the things He can’t do! We make a good team. Love to all!
