Friday Aug. 19th 11:00 p.m.
Dear Friends Tonight Judy and I were able to Go to
Stillwater Ok. To attend our oldest sons 35th Birthday.
Judy has struggled since Tuesday with stomach challenges
but felt like she would like to try and make the trip. On
the way home she took off her wig and rested on a pillow
she had brought with her. As we travel down 177 toward
Ponca City my mind traveled back almost 50 years to when
I was a toddler. It was before seat belts were mandatory.
I used to stand right beside my dad as he drove down the
road. Back then most of the highways were 2 lane and even
then not very wide. My dad was always wanting to lead and
not follow so out he would go over and over passing cars.
I remember several times being so afraid he wasn’t
going to get back into his lane in time and I would cry
out to him to hurry. Tonight, as I was driving, a couple
of cars were in my lane coming at me and that same
feeling came up in my emotions. I realized tonight that
is the same feeling I have felt many times during Judy’s
affliction. Even though I am behind the wheel now I still
have little control over the outcomes. And like that
child so many years ago I cry out to my heavenly father
to please “Hurry up” and make us safe. And you
know what? He says what my earthly father said so many
years ago: “Chuckie it is going to be OK!” And
you know what else? It was and it is!
